Uli Jon Roth's Take on "The Hut of Baba-Yoga"

To me, this is just one of the major guitar events that Mr. Uli Jon Roth partook of this century. On this track, Uli went beyond people's comfort zone of expectations and delivered a risk taking performance of this Mussorgsky piece, one that made the overwhelming majority of "neo-classicists" look cliched, plastic, and frightened. One of my favorite variables here is how much more edgy the guitar playing is, especially when compared with the stereotypical Shrapnel robo-thons. That impromptu feel lends so much more excitement to the track...I wouldn't doubt the production had at least as much to do with that sound as the wildly imaginative playing. For those not initiated, I can assure you that this is just one example of the modern guitar masterpiece that is Transcendental Sky Guitar as a whole.

Ken Kelly's "Sonata Sirena" Artwork

I'm especially admiring fantasy god Ken Kelly's artwork for the upcoming Lyraka cd, "Sonata Sirena" this morning.  Most particularly the way the Venetian science fiction blends with the classic Grecian setting; the Empress' look of eagerness upon awakening in her royal bed; unstartled that she awakes in human form and well above the oceanic depths she holds illimitable dominion over.

The "Sonata Sirena" CD is due for release August 29th, 2014.
